Artist's Description
This is a shot of a White Necked Jacobin Hummingbird. It shows him on one of the rare occasions when this species actually sits still on a perch. He is drying his wings after showering in the tropical rain. The image shows just how delicate hummingbird wings are. They look almost translucent against the rainforest canopy. The shape of them reminds of a modern 'swing wing' jet fighter. Perhaps thats where the aircraft designers got the idea ;-)
