Artist's Description

When mating the male Octopus inserts his hectocotylus arm (one of the arms of male cephalopods that is specialized to store and transfer spermatophores to the female) into the female's mantle cavity and deposit spermatophores (sperm packets).
I was lucky to find this couple mating at the safety stop at the end of the dive.
