The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Was very lucky to capture this sublime moment during my first trip to Thor's well.... The tide & surf were just right with the beautiful post-sunset glow in the background. Spent almost 1.5hr standing in strong winds & sea mist (while constantly wiping my lens!) but only caught a few shots where the 'waterfall' in the pit look nice AND the surrounding flow covering the entire frame happened simultaneously.
I feel very honored this shot finished in the top 33 in the amateur category
