Artist's Description

This photo is part of my ongoing series of model photos that use flips or rotations to add a moment of mystery. Rather than true abstract – where the viewer may never figure out what's actually in the image – my goal is to briefly confound the viewer. It soon becomes obvious that gravity is not pointing down, for example the way the model's hair falls. But if figuring this out took a moment, then by now the viewer is hopefully starting to get invested in the image. Or maybe I'm overthinking this
