Artist's Description

The moon eclipse of March 3, 2007 photographed by telescope at the central moment of the totality. It is possible to observe the colour variations due to the irregularities of the refracted light of the Earth's atmosphere due to the uneven presence of grazing cloud cover. The blue-violet colour is the refraction of the outermost levels of the Earth's atmosphere with less presence of suspended dust.
