This shot is the product of a spontaneous trip with a good friend to Alabama Hills just outside Lone Pine, California on a Friday night. We knew we would have no moon and a good opportunity to see the Milky Way, so we decided to go for it and drive the 3.5 hours and see what the adventure would bring us. We stayed up all night shooting and exploring the unique rock formations as we waited for the right time to get the Milky Way behind the arch. We weren't alone in that idea, and were lucky to me
