I lived in the suburbs of Beijing when I was a child. Although the days were poor and simple, the summer nights were so beautiful and charming. I can recall the night sky being filled beyond imagination with not only stars but also twinkling fireflies. However, with urbanization, the cute elves slowly but surely disappeared from the nighttime landscape. Recently, I rediscovered fireflies near my home this summer.
