Artist's Description

Manhattan, New York, 1989. I just wanted to make a shot of this smoking man on his bicycle and in this moment he flicked away the stub of his cigarette. The picture is part of my series "New York Blues". 1987 and 1989 I tried to translate the mood of this ambivalent city into colour. The best translation for me had been this monochrome blue.
