Cavers usually use ropes to go down, climbers is to climb up ...
Cavers ropes are static, while the ones of climbers are dynamic to withstand shocks if the climber falls.
For cavers rope is a tool to move up and down into pits, for climber is a safety element to prevent falls.
For caving ropes should be set up so that it does not touch the wall to avoid friction and the risk of shearing during ascent.
