Artist's Description

The Dinka, in the dry season, live in cattle camps on the banks of the White Nile. They have a symbiotic bond with their Ankole Watusi cattle and truly care for their wellbeing. They massage the cattle in the mornings and evenings with ash from their fires, hence the camps always have a smokey haze which creates a unique ambience. They also cover themselves with ash to mitigate against tsetse flies and mosquitoes.
