In spring, Columbia hills are covered by wild flowers. Bright yellow balsam roots (Balsamorhiza deltoidea) and blue purple lupine put on a spectacular show in April. During a shower, the sun poked out from the clouds, and a rainbow suddenly appeared on the sky. It was rising from oak trees, crossing hills of flowers then reaching at a farm house. With no time to set up a tripod, I jumped out of the car and quickly made several overlap shots to document the joy of spring.
