Artist's Description

Blue Columbine is the state flower of Colorado. In summer they bloom on the mountains at elevation of 10000 feet or higher. This image was taken in San Juan Mountains at 11500 feet elevation. Since the flowers were so close to my lens, I had to take several shots for focus-stacking in post-processing to make sure everything in the image would be sharp. At the time those shots were taken, the wind was so strong and the flowers were shifting in different directions. The focus-stacking was unsucce
